An all-Korean encounter for the mixed doubles event which is pretty rare considering the presence of numerous outstanding mixed doubles players from China, Indonesia, England and Denmark. Nevertheless, the less experienced pair which was unseeded definitely achieved a breakthrough since they did not even get past second round in this year's Super Series events so far (Korea Open, Malaysia Open and All England Championship).
